Bunny Cake
Ingredients
- 1 two layer cake mix
- Choose your favorite flavor.
- 3 cups coconut flakes
- 1 can vanilla frosting
- red food coloring
- 30 spiced gum drops
- 4 strings red licorice
Instructions
- Heat oven and bake cake in two 9-inch round baking pans as directed on cake package.
- When cooled, place one whole 9-inch cake layer on lower half of serving tray, forming the bunny head. Cut 2 convex shaped ears from each side of the second layer, leaving a bow-tie shape between the two cuts. Place ears at each side of the top of the head. Place concave shaped piece at the bottom of the head for a bow-tie. Frost entire bunny cake.
- Use red food coloring to make a couple tablespoons of frosting pink. Use pink frosting in center of ears. Use red food coloring to make a couple tablespoons of coconut pink. Use pink coconut in center of ears. Pat remaining white coconut evenly over the top and sides of face and ears.
- Decorate the bunny face using spiced gum drops for eyes and nose. Use licorice strings for whiskers, eybrows and mouth. Use remaining spiced gum drops to make a polka-dotted bow.
