Carrots Creamed
Ingredients
- 1 small onion
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 dash pepper
- 12 medium carrots
- 1/2 pound Velveeta
- 1/2 cup potato chips
Instructions
- Saute onion in butter. Add flour, milk, salt, celery seed, mustard, and pepper.
- In greased 2 quart casserole, layer carrots and cheese slices. Pour sauce over top. Cover with potato chips. Bake 350F for 1/2 hour
Notes
This is Grandma Leota Snitker’s recipe. I loved carrots this way growing up although I don’t remember the potato chip topping. My kids preferred raw, roasted, or simply steamed carrots.
