  1. In a 12 quart Dutch oven over medium heat, cook onion and garlic in salad oil until tender, stirring frequently (about ten minutes).
  2. Add remaining ingredients, over high heat, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, partially cover and cook two hours.
  3. Discard bay leaves. Can and seal.

Notes

Not a lot of details were provided in this recipe from Mom. I am guessing you wash, peel and chop the vegetables before cooking. You may want to finely chop or puree the vegetables as well, but chunky sauce is popular. Mullens have a lot of experience canning spaghetti sauce. Consider offering to help them to learn the tricks.
