  1. Combine sugar, light corn syrup, salt, and water in two quart saucepan.
  2. Cook slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cook to hard ball stage (260 degrees fahrenheit) without stirring.
  3. Remove, stir in color and butter.
  4. Pour into greased jelly roll pan. Cool until handable. Grease hands and pull, pull, pull until color lightens.
  5. Pull into long strands and cut with greased scissors into bite-sized pieces. Wrap each piece in wax paper.

Notes

You can flavor the taffy by adding a teaspoon of extract or a 1/2 teaspoon of concentrate oil.
