Snickerdoodles
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- Lard or Crisco
- 2 large whole eggs
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- for topping
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- for topping
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.
- Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar with margarine, shortening, and eggs.
- Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Shape into 1 1/4 inch balls.
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Roll balls in this cinnamon-sugar mixture then place two inhes apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool.
