Soft Buns
Ingredients
Instructions
- IF USING THE BREAD MACHINE, place all ingredients in order into bread machine; select dough setting to make dough.
- IF USING THE KITCHEN AID MIXER, combine milk, melted butter and sugar. Heat to 110F. Add to yeast in the mixer bowl and let activate (become bubbly). In a separate bowl combine remaining dry ingredients. Add to mixer bowl, attach dough hook, stir to moisten dry ingredients. Turn up to speed 2 and let combine and knead for ten minutes. Remove dough hook, cover bowl with a damp towel, and let rise in warm space.
- Turn out dough onto flour surface. Roll 3/4 inch thick and cut into 2.5 inch squares (or cut circles for round buns).
- Place rolls on greased baking sheet or baking stone and brush with melted butter. Bake at 350F until lightly browned.
Notes
This recipe is from Peggy. Let me know if you have a bread machine and are using it. Peggy found this recipe worked well for breadsticks. After rolling out the dough, she would cut into strips, brush with butter, and sprinkle with parmesan and pizza seasoning. Then she’d let rise and bake. Photo is of rolls made using the Kitchen Aid mixer with dough hook and baked on a stone.
