Stuffed Green Peppers
Ingredients
- 4 large green bell peppers
- 10 cups salted boiling water
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1 Tablespoon chopped onion
- 1 cup course dry bread crumbs
- 8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Cook peppers in salt water about five minutes. Drain.
- Brown beef and onion. Drain and mix with remaining ingredients.
- Gently stuff peppers with beef mixture. Bake covered about 45 minutes at 350F.
Notes
This stuffed bell pepper recipe from Mom is unique in that it does not have rice. The photo is from my last bake. I used three extra large colored bell peppers and enjoyed my pepper with a slice of swiss on it.
