  1. Soften bread crumbs in milk. Add egg, salt, nutmeg, and pepper. Add onion and ground beef, mixing well. Form into 1 inch balls. Roll in flour and brown meatballs 4 or 5 at a time in small amount of oil. Place browned meatballs in a casserole dish.
  2. Brown flour in pan dripping. If there are none, add some butter. Add water, bouillon cube, milk, and seasonings. Bring to boil stirring constantly. Pour over meatballs. Bake covered at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes.

Notes

Mom notes that you can use a can of mushroom soup diluted with 1/2 can of milk instead of the last six ingredients.
